About: Long time maker of delicious honey, Mel-o decided it was time to update their packaging and I enthusiastically agreed. A primary objective was to retain the familiarity of the Mel-o brand while giving the label a fresh make-over.

Previous Design
Concepting
The retro feel of the Mel-o brand created an opportunity to give the new label a vintage vibe with modern tendencies. I researched food packaging from previous decades which drove inspiration for the first rounds of label concepts. Keeping the iconic bear was a necessity as well as giving the client a variety of illustrative and photographic options.
Final Design
The final design was chosen for its ability to jump off the shelves and stand out from the competition. While my design eventually became the final label, the production team at Words at Work carried this over the finish line, working with the client to fine tune the design and fleshing out all the label sizes and deliverables.
